Winery Review: Often referred to as Shiraz Country, the Riebeek Valley is renowned for exceptional Shiraz wines. The Riebeek Shiraz is a lively rich wine, full bodied with a subdued smokiness on the nose and a pallet of ripe fruit and interesting spice.
My Review: Berry and dark fruits on the nose. Similar tasting fruits to the smell with the addition of pepper. A nice full tannic structure. Very smooth with little astringency. I can imagine that it would be a very nice wine when decanted. This particular wine didn't really do a whole lot for me but that might be partially attributed to the fact that I didn't get to try it all that much since it was at a free wine tasting. I still am not sure where I stand on this one.
